An AI travel agent is software that plans a trip in conversation, flights, hotels, and activities matched to your dates, budget, and taste, and then books it. Unlike a trip planner, a true AI travel agent completes the transaction: live inventory, traveler details, verified pricing, and confirmed tickets.
Most tools wearing the name stop at the first half. They generate an itinerary, hand you a list of links, and leave the booking (the actual hard part) to you.
